Just wanted to bring my loyal readership's attention to a recent article at the mighty, mighty, WebMD that will affirm the obvious: mothers know their kids.
A new study analyzed home video's of kids, who parents reported were fine until about 18-24 months, then started to regress or lose language and were evenutally diagnosed with autism. Apparently (shock, horror) researchers confirmed parents findings that their kids seemed to back tracking in development.
"Once again, this study provides an important lesson that parents are good reporters on what is happening with their children," says researcher Geraldine Dawson, PhD, director of the University of Washington's Autism Center, in a news release."
Well, duh.
But I am glad someone is listening. :)
P.S. My son Harry had no such regression. He was the way he is during his toddlerhood. He is making great strides every year, but he has never lost ground.

I totally agree -- any theory, observation and conclusion, no matter how wacky, should be examined at this point until research can tell us what road is the right one to pursue to help our kids.
